About Going Outdaws

Going Outdaws is a personal website following my AT 2015 journey.

From March 4th to July 28th 2015, I hiked northbound (NOBO) from Springer Mountain in Georgia and finished on Mount Katahdin in Maine.

I kept detailed daily entries throughout my trip, with well over 100,000 words written on my tiny iPod Touch screen. Those hastily-written and typo-filled entries have been proofread and edited into the entries you can find on this site.

As a (then) young, female hiker who travelled from Britain for this journey, I hope that my entries will help to convince and encourange other international, female hikers that an AT thruhike is a wonderful and safe experience.

Alongside my prolific diary entries, you can also find (usually) high-quality photos of the AT from my perspective in the Gallery section. These photos are free to browse, but belong to me, so please do not use them without permission.
