The Journey

Going Outdaws is a personal website following my AT 2015 journey.

From March 4th to July 28th 2015, I hiked northbound (NOBO) from Springer Mountain in Georgia and finished on Mount Katahdin in Maine.

The Entries

I kept detailed daily entries throughout my trip, with well over 100,000 words written on my tiny iPod Touch screen. Those hastily-written and typo-filled entries have been proofread and edited into the entries you can find on this site.

The Hiker

As a (then) young woman who travelled from Britain for this journey, I hope that my entries will help to convince and encourage other international women hikers that an AT thruhike is a wonderful experience and does not need extensive preparation to complete!
